Shipping, Insurance & Collection Policy

Last updated: [11th October 2026]

1. Introduction

This Shipping, Insurance & Collection Policy ("Policy") outlines the requirements, responsibilities and procedures relating to the transportation, insurance, delivery, collection and return of trading cards submitted for professional grading through Slabrio.

The Slabrio website, web application and mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform") are operated by Slabrio Pty Ltd (ABN 35 697 146 786), trading as Slabrio ("Slabrio", "we", "us" or "our").

Slabrio operates as a technology marketplace connecting Customers with independent Authorised Retailers who provide trading card grading submission services.

Authorised Retailers are responsible for receiving, handling, preparing and arranging the transportation of Customers' cards to supported third-party Grading Companies, and for coordinating the return or collection of completed submissions.

Slabrio provides the technology infrastructure used to facilitate submission management, payment processing, shipping selections, insurance calculations, tracking and communications.

Slabrio does not ordinarily physically receive, transport, store or handle Customers' cards.

This Policy applies to Customers and Authorised Retailers using Slabrio and should be read alongside our Terms of Service, Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy, Grading Submission Terms & Conditions and any applicable Retailer-specific terms.

Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

2. Policy details

2.1 Shipping and Delivery Responsibilities

The transportation of trading cards through the grading process generally involves four stages:

  1. Customer to Authorised Retailer.

  2. Authorised Retailer to Grading Company.

  3. Grading Company to Authorised Retailer.

  4. Authorised Retailer to Customer.

The party responsible for arranging and funding transportation and insurance varies according to the stage of the Submission.

All parties must take reasonable steps to protect cards from loss, theft and damage while they are under their care or control.

Physical custody alone does not conclusively determine legal responsibility for loss or damage. Liability will depend on the circumstances, contractual arrangements and applicable law.

2.2 Customer-to-Retailer Shipping

Customers who choose to ship their cards to an Authorised Retailer are responsible for arranging and paying for the initial shipment.

Customers must use an appropriate shipping service that provides:

  • Tracking.

  • Insurance suitable for the declared value of the cards.

  • Appropriate delivery confirmation.

  • Reasonable protection against loss or damage during transit.

Customers are responsible for reviewing the selected carrier's insurance conditions, coverage limits, exclusions and claims procedures.

The Customer must provide accurate delivery details and follow any shipping instructions supplied by the selected Retailer.

The Retailer is not considered to have physically received the cards until they have been delivered and accepted at the Retailer's designated receiving location.

Where the Customer independently arranges shipping, the carrier's terms and the circumstances of the shipment may affect responsibility for loss or damage before delivery.

Nothing in this section excludes any responsibility that a Retailer or Slabrio may have under applicable law.

2.3 Customer Packaging Requirements

Customers shipping cards to a Retailer must package them appropriately to reduce the risk of damage during transportation.

Unless the Retailer provides different written instructions, Customers should:

  • Place each card in a suitable protective sleeve.

  • Use an appropriate semi-rigid card holder or other protective card holder.

  • Secure cards to prevent movement during transit.

  • Protect cards against bending, crushing and moisture.

  • Use a sturdy outer box or suitable protective packaging.

  • Include any required Submission reference or identification documentation.

  • Seal the package securely.

  • Retain shipping receipts and tracking information.

Customers should not use packaging methods that place unnecessary pressure on the cards or make safe removal difficult.

Retailers may publish additional packaging instructions through Slabrio.

Customers must follow any reasonable packaging requirements communicated by the selected Retailer.

2.4 In-Person Drop-Off

Customers may choose to deliver their cards directly to an Authorised Retailer where in-person drop-off is offered.

Drop-offs must be made during the Retailer's advertised opening hours or another time expressly agreed with the Retailer.

Customers should confirm the Retailer's current opening hours, address and drop-off instructions before attending.

A Retailer may require Customers to provide:

  • Their Slabrio Submission number.

  • Their name or account details.

  • The cards included in the Submission.

  • Reasonable identification or verification information.

The Retailer should record receipt of the Submission through Slabrio.

Customers are encouraged to retain confirmation of the drop-off.

Shipping insurance is not required for an in-person handover where no shipping service is used for that stage.

2.5 Retailer Receipt and Verification

Upon receiving a Submission, the Retailer is responsible for taking reasonable steps to verify the cards received against the corresponding Slabrio Submission record.

Verification may include:

  • Confirming the number of cards received.

  • Checking card identification information.

  • Recording discrepancies or missing cards.

  • Identifying visible packaging damage.

  • Confirming the selected grading services.

  • Updating the Submission's receipt status.

Where a material discrepancy is identified, the Retailer should notify the Customer within a reasonable time.

The Retailer must exercise due care and skill when opening packages, handling cards and preparing them for grading.

Any known damage or discrepancy should be documented where reasonably practicable.

2.6 Retailer-to-Grading Company Shipping

The Authorised Retailer is responsible for arranging transportation of Customers' cards from the Retailer to the selected Grading Company.

This includes:

  • Preparing and securely packaging cards.

  • Selecting suitable shipping and logistics providers.

  • Arranging appropriate insurance.

  • Completing required shipping and customs documentation.

  • Maintaining reasonable shipment records.

  • Monitoring shipment progress where tracking is available.

Insurance for this stage is arranged and funded by the Retailer and incorporated into the grading service fees.

The Retailer must ensure that the insurance arrangements are appropriate for the shipment, subject to the applicable policy limits, conditions and exclusions.

The Retailer must comply with any relevant packaging and transportation requirements imposed by the Grading Company or shipping provider.

2.7 Grading Company-to-Retailer Return Shipping

Once grading has been completed, the Grading Company arranges return transportation of the cards to the Authorised Retailer under its applicable service and shipping arrangements.

Insurance for this stage is provided under the Grading Company's applicable arrangements and is incorporated into the grading service fees.

Coverage may be subject to the Grading Company's insurance limits, declared value requirements, shipping conditions and exclusions.

The Retailer is responsible for monitoring the return shipment where tracking information is available and taking reasonable steps to verify the returned cards upon receipt.

The involvement of a Grading Company or carrier does not automatically remove any obligations the Retailer owes to the Customer under applicable law.

2.8 Mandatory Insurance Requirements

Insurance is mandatory for the applicable outbound and grading company transportation stages of a Submission.

The required arrangements are:

Customer to Retailer

The Customer arranges and pays for insured shipping when sending cards to the Retailer.

Retailer to Grading Company

The Retailer arranges and pays for insurance, with the cost incorporated into grading fees.

Grading Company to Retailer

Insurance is provided under the Grading Company's arrangements, with the cost incorporated into grading fees.

Retailer to Customer

The Customer selects either standard shipping or insured shipping from the available return delivery options.

Optional insurance for the final return shipment is charged according to the Retailer's disclosed shipping and insurance rates.

Insurance coverage may be subject to:

  • Declared Value limits.

  • Per-card or per-shipment limits.

  • Deductibles or excesses.

  • Carrier and insurer exclusions.

  • Packaging requirements.

  • Claim notification deadlines.

  • Evidence and documentation requirements.

Insurance does not guarantee that the full Declared Value will be paid in the event of a claim.

Any non-excludable legal rights or remedies remain available regardless of insurance coverage.

2.9 Return Shipping Options

Every Authorised Retailer using Slabrio must offer the following three return shipping methods where return delivery is available:

Regular Shipping โ€” With Signature

A standard tracked delivery service requiring signature or equivalent delivery confirmation.

This option does not include additional declared-value insurance unless expressly stated.

Express Shipping โ€” With Signature

An express tracked delivery service requiring signature or equivalent delivery confirmation.

This option does not include additional declared-value insurance unless expressly stated.

Insured Express Shipping

An express tracked delivery service with signature or equivalent delivery confirmation and additional insurance coverage subject to the applicable policy terms.

The available coverage amount, exclusions and insurance charges must be disclosed before payment.

All return shipping services are subject to carrier availability, delivery restrictions and applicable service conditions.

Retailers must not advertise a delivery service or insurance benefit that they cannot reasonably provide.

2.10 Shipping Fees and Insurance Calculations

Authorised Retailers configure their return shipping prices and applicable insurance rates through the Slabrio Retailer Portal.

Retailers are responsible for maintaining accurate and current pricing.

Return shipping charges may take into account:

  • Shipping method.

  • Destination.

  • Package weight and dimensions.

  • Carrier charges.

  • Packaging costs.

  • Signature requirements.

  • Insurance coverage amount.

  • Other disclosed delivery-related costs.

Where Insured Express Shipping is selected, the insurance charge may be calculated using the applicable insured value and the Retailer's configured insurance rates.

The Customer must be shown the applicable return shipping and insurance charges before confirming payment.

Retailers must ensure that any insurance calculation corresponds to coverage that is genuinely available under the applicable insurance arrangements.

Slabrio facilitates the display and calculation of charges but does not itself provide insurance or underwrite insurance risk.

Shipping and insurance charges are excluded from Slabrio's platform fee calculation.

2.11 Return Delivery Selection and Payment

Customers may select an available return shipping option when creating their Submission or at another stage supported by the Platform.

Customers are responsible for paying the applicable return shipping and optional insurance charges.

Where a Customer chooses in-person collection, return shipping charges will not apply unless a delivery service is subsequently requested.

A Customer may request a change to the selected return method, subject to Retailer approval, shipping availability and any applicable price adjustment.

Any additional charges must be disclosed before payment.

Refunds relating to unused or cancelled shipping services will be handled under the Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.

2.12 Return Shipping Addresses

Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete return delivery details.

Before dispatch, Customers should ensure that their delivery address and contact information are current.

Where an address change is requested, the Retailer may require reasonable verification before updating the shipment details.

Once a shipment has been dispatched, address changes may be restricted by the carrier.

Where a delivery fails because of incorrect information supplied by the Customer, reasonable additional shipping charges may apply if properly disclosed and legally recoverable.

This does not exclude responsibility for errors made by the Retailer or other parties.

2.13 Shipping Tracking and Delivery Confirmation

Where tracking is available, the Retailer should provide or make accessible the relevant tracking information.

Shipping statuses may be displayed through Slabrio or communicated by the Retailer.

Tracking updates are dependent on the relevant carrier and may not occur in real time.

A shipment marked as delivered by a carrier does not conclusively resolve every dispute concerning actual receipt.

Where delivery is disputed, the Retailer should assist with reasonable investigation, including reviewing tracking information, signature records and other available delivery evidence.

2.14 Lost, Stolen or Damaged Shipments

If a shipment is lost, stolen or damaged, the Customer should notify the selected Retailer or Slabrio as soon as reasonably practicable.

The Retailer must provide reasonable assistance with investigating incidents involving shipments it has arranged.

This may include:

  • Contacting the relevant carrier.

  • Reviewing tracking and delivery records.

  • Obtaining shipping documentation.

  • Assisting with applicable insurance claims.

  • Providing reasonable evidence of card identification or value.

  • Communicating investigation outcomes to the Customer.

For Customer-arranged initial shipments, the Customer may need to lodge the insurance claim with their selected carrier.

Responsibility for any loss or damage will be assessed according to the circumstances, custody arrangements, applicable insurance, contractual obligations and consumer protection laws.

Selecting a standard return shipping service without additional insurance does not automatically waive a Customer's statutory rights.

2.15 Insurance Claims and Compensation

Insurance claims are subject to the applicable insurer's or carrier's policy conditions.

The party responsible for arranging the insured shipment should provide reasonable assistance with the relevant claim process.

Customers may be required to provide supporting documentation, including:

  • Purchase receipts.

  • Card identification information.

  • Photographs.

  • Declared Values.

  • Relevant market value evidence.

  • Submission records.

  • Shipping documentation.

Insurance payments may be limited by applicable coverage limits, exclusions, excesses and valuation requirements.

Declared Value is not necessarily equivalent to the amount payable under an insurance claim.

The availability or outcome of insurance coverage does not replace any legal obligations or remedies under applicable consumer protection legislation.

2.16 Ready for Collection Notifications

Where a Customer has selected in-person collection, the Retailer will notify the Customer when their completed Submission is ready for collection.

A Submission is not considered ready for collection merely because grading results are visible through Slabrio.

Cards must first have been returned to the Retailer and made available for release.

The Ready for Collection notification may include:

  • The Submission number.

  • The Retailer's collection address.

  • Collection instructions.

  • Applicable opening hours.

  • Any outstanding payment requirements.

  • Relevant identification requirements.

Customers should attend during the Retailer's advertised opening hours or another time expressly agreed with the Retailer.

2.17 Collection Verification and Confirmation

Retailers must take reasonable steps to verify that cards are released to the correct Customer or an appropriately authorised representative.

Verification may include:

  • Confirming the Slabrio Submission number.

  • Checking the Customer's identity.

  • Confirming account or collection details.

  • Verifying authorisation for third-party collection.

A Customer may authorise another person to collect their cards, subject to the Retailer's reasonable verification procedures.

The Retailer must record the collection or handover through Slabrio.

This may include the collection date, collection status and relevant verification or acknowledgement details.

Retailers should not release cards where there are reasonable unresolved concerns about the recipient's authority to collect them.

2.18 Collection Timeframe

Customers are expected to collect completed grading Submissions within 90 days of receiving a Ready for Collection notification.

Customers who cannot collect within this period should contact the Retailer to discuss an alternative arrangement.

Retailers should provide reasonable reminders before the end of the collection period.

The 90-day period is an administrative collection timeframe and does not automatically transfer ownership of the cards or authorise their disposal.

Any further action concerning unclaimed cards must comply with applicable uncollected goods legislation and other relevant legal requirements.

2.19 Unclaimed Cards

Where cards remain uncollected after the 90-day collection period, the Retailer must make reasonable attempts to contact the Customer.

These attempts may include:

  • Email reminders.

  • Platform notifications.

  • Telephone contact where appropriate.

  • Written notices where required by law.

Retailers must comply with applicable uncollected goods legislation before taking any action to sell, dispose of or otherwise deal with unclaimed cards.

The expiry of the 90-day collection period does not, by itself, authorise a Retailer to sell, retain as its own property or dispose of a Customer's cards.

Any legally required notices, waiting periods, valuation requirements or disposal procedures must be followed.

Slabrio does not acquire ownership of unclaimed cards.

2.20 Outstanding Payments and Release of Cards

Customers are responsible for paying charges that are properly disclosed and legally payable in connection with their Submissions.

These may include:

  • Outstanding grading service fees.

  • Grading Upcharges.

  • Agreed return shipping charges.

  • Other properly payable service charges.

Where permitted by law and the agreed service terms, the Retailer may delay release or dispatch of affected cards until outstanding amounts have been settled.

All supported grading Upcharge payments must be processed through Slabrio.

Customers retain the right to dispute charges and exercise applicable consumer protection rights.

2.21 Retailer Operating Requirements

Authorised Retailers must maintain accurate and accessible information concerning their:

  • Business address.

  • Opening hours.

  • Drop-off procedures.

  • Collection procedures.

  • Return shipping prices.

  • Insurance rates and coverage information.

  • Customer contact methods.

Retailers are responsible for keeping this information current within their Slabrio Retailer Portal.

Customers should review the selected Retailer's operating information before shipping or delivering cards.

Slabrio may require Retailers to correct inaccurate or misleading operating information.

2.22 Complaints and Dispute Resolution

Customers experiencing a shipping, insurance or collection issue should initially contact their selected Authorised Retailer.

The Retailer is ordinarily responsible for investigating issues relating to shipments, card handling and collection arrangements it manages.

Slabrio may assist with Platform records, payment information, submission tracking and communication between the parties.

Customers retain their rights to contact carriers, insurers, payment providers, consumer protection authorities or other appropriate dispute resolution bodies.

Nothing in this Policy requires Customers to waive statutory rights or remedies.

2.23 Liability and Consumer Rights

Slabrio is responsible for its own obligations as the Platform operator.

Authorised Retailers are responsible for their obligations as suppliers of grading submission, shipping and related services.

Carriers, insurers and Grading Companies may have additional obligations under their respective arrangements and applicable law.

Responsibility for loss, damage, delay, failed delivery or other issues will depend on the circumstances and applicable legal obligations.

Neither the use of third-party providers nor the selection of an uninsured return shipping option automatically removes a party's legal responsibility.

Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

3. Changes to this policy

Slabrio may update this Shipping, Insurance & Collection Policy periodically to reflect changes in applicable laws, carrier services, insurance arrangements, Platform functionality, Retailer requirements or business operations.

The latest version will be published on our website with an updated revision date.

Where changes materially affect Customers' rights or obligations, Slabrio will provide reasonable notice through the Platform, email or other appropriate communication channels.

Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued rights or alter existing Submissions without a lawful basis.

Where required by law, Slabrio will obtain express acceptance of updated terms.

Customers and Retailers are encouraged to review this Policy periodically.
