Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last updated: [11th October 2026]

1. Introduction

Slabrio is committed to providing a transparent, secure and fair payment experience for Customers and Authorised Retailers using our Platform.

This Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy ("Policy") explains how payments, cancellations, refunds, grading upcharges, transaction fees and payment disputes are managed through the Slabrio website, web application and mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform").

The Platform is operated by Slabrio Pty Ltd (ABN 35 697 146 786), trading as Slabrio ("Slabrio", "we", "us" or "our").

Slabrio operates as a technology marketplace connecting Customers with independent Authorised Retailers who offer trading card grading submission services.

Authorised Retailers independently establish their service pricing and are responsible for providing the grading submission services purchased by Customers. Slabrio provides the technology infrastructure used to facilitate payments, submission management, tracking, communications and related administrative functions.

This Policy applies to Customers and Authorised Retailers using Slabrio's payment services and should be read alongside our Terms of Service, Grading Submission Terms & Conditions, Shipping, Insurance & Collection Policy and any applicable Retailer-specific terms.

Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

2. Policy details

2.1 Retailer Pricing and Service Fees

Authorised Retailers independently determine the prices charged to Customers for grading submission services offered through Slabrio.

Retailers may establish pricing for:

  • Grading submission tiers.

  • Card preparation and handling services.

  • Shipping and return delivery.

  • Optional insurance.

  • Additional services offered by the Retailer.

All applicable charges must be clearly displayed or otherwise disclosed before the Customer confirms payment.

Prices displayed at checkout will include applicable taxes and mandatory charges where required by law.

Retailers are responsible for ensuring their advertised prices are accurate, transparent and compliant with applicable consumer protection legislation.

Slabrio charges participating Retailers a separate platform fee under their applicable commercial agreements.

Unless expressly disclosed, Slabrio's platform fee is not charged separately to Customers.

2.2 Payment Processing

Payments made through Slabrio are facilitated using approved third-party payment providers, including:

  • Stripe.

  • PayPal.

Available payment methods may vary depending on the Retailer, Customer location and payment provider availability.

By confirming a transaction, the Customer authorises payment of the total amount displayed at checkout.

Payment information is processed by the applicable payment provider in accordance with its terms, security practices and privacy policies.

Slabrio does not ordinarily store complete payment card numbers or card security codes.

A grading Submission will generally be confirmed once payment has been successfully authorised or received, subject to any additional verification requirements.

Slabrio may delay, decline or investigate transactions where reasonably necessary to address suspected fraud, unauthorised activity, payment security concerns or legal compliance requirements.

2.3 Retailer Cancellation Policies

Slabrio does not charge Customers a cancellation fee for cancelling a grading Submission.

Each Authorised Retailer may establish its own cancellation terms, provided those terms comply with Slabrio's minimum standards and applicable consumer protection laws.

Retailer-specific cancellation conditions must be clearly disclosed before the Customer completes payment.

Slabrio's minimum cancellation standards require that:

  • Customers have a reasonable method of requesting cancellation.

  • Cancellation terms are clearly communicated before purchase.

  • Any Retailer-imposed cancellation charges are reasonable, proportionate, disclosed and legally enforceable.

  • Customers are not charged undisclosed cancellation fees.

  • Cancellation conditions do not unlawfully restrict consumer rights.

  • Refunds and other remedies are provided where required by law.

Slabrio reserves the right to require Retailers to amend cancellation terms that do not comply with these minimum standards.

Where Retailer cancellation terms conflict with applicable consumer protection legislation, the applicable law will prevail.

2.4 Cancellation Before Processing

Customers may request cancellation of a grading Submission before the selected Retailer has commenced processing.

Where no services have been performed and no unavoidable third-party costs have been incurred, the Retailer should ordinarily approve cancellation and provide a refund.

A Retailer may apply a cancellation charge only where the charge was properly disclosed, is legally enforceable and reasonably reflects legitimate costs or interests.

Any applicable cancellation charge must be explained to the Customer.

Slabrio does not impose an additional Platform cancellation fee.

2.5 Cancellation After Processing Has Commenced

Once a Retailer has commenced processing a grading Submission, cancellation may be subject to additional restrictions.

Processing activities may include:

  • Receiving and verifying submitted cards.

  • Preparing cards for grading.

  • Organising grading company submissions.

  • Packaging and dispatching cards.

  • Incurring third-party grading or logistics costs.

Where cancellation is requested after processing has commenced, the Retailer may retain reasonable charges for services already performed or unavoidable costs, where permitted by law and the agreed service terms.

Any remaining refundable balance will be returned to the Customer.

Retailers must not automatically retain the full payment solely because processing has commenced.

2.6 Cancellation After Submission to a Grading Company

Once cards have been dispatched to or accepted by a third-party Grading Company, cancellation may no longer be available where the relevant grading service cannot be cancelled.

Cancellation requests will be assessed with reference to:

  • The Grading Company's applicable terms and conditions.

  • The current status of the Submission.

  • Services already performed by the Retailer.

  • Non-recoverable third-party charges.

  • Applicable consumer protection legislation.

Where a refund or cancellation is required by law, the responsible Retailer must provide the appropriate remedy.

2.7 Refund Eligibility

Customers may be eligible for a full or partial refund in circumstances including:

  • A cancellation approved under the applicable Retailer policy.

  • A service that cannot be provided.

  • An incorrect or duplicate payment.

  • An overcharge or billing error.

  • A grading service cancellation accepted by the relevant provider.

  • A failure to meet applicable consumer guarantees.

  • Other circumstances where a refund is required by law.

Refund eligibility is assessed according to the relevant circumstances, services performed, applicable Retailer terms and statutory consumer rights.

A Customer is not automatically entitled to a refund merely because a card receives an undesirable grade or because a grading process exceeds an advertised estimate.

However, this does not affect any entitlement to a remedy where services fail to meet applicable consumer guarantees, including requirements relating to due care and skill and reasonable timeframes.

2.8 Refund Processing

Authorised Retailers can initiate and process refunds directly through their Slabrio Retailer Portal.

Retailers are responsible for assessing refund requests relating to their grading submission services and determining the appropriate refund amount in accordance with applicable policies and consumer protection laws.

Where a refund is approved or legally required, the Retailer may process a full or partial refund through the Platform.

Refunds are facilitated through the applicable payment provider, including Stripe or PayPal.

Approved refunds will generally be returned to the Customer's original payment method.

Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, payment method and financial institution.

Slabrio may provide administrative assistance, investigate payment-related issues or intervene where reasonably necessary to enforce Platform policies or meet legal obligations.

A Retailer's failure to voluntarily approve a refund does not remove any refund entitlement available under applicable law.

2.9 Slabrio Platform Fees

Slabrio charges participating Retailers a platform fee calculated on eligible grading-related transactions in accordance with their applicable commercial agreements.

Platform fees apply to:

  • Grading submission fees.

  • Grading Upcharges.

Platform fees do not apply to:

  • Shipping charges.

  • Insurance charges.

  • Taxes, including GST.

Platform fees are calculated using the eligible grading-related amounts, excluding applicable taxes.

The applicable platform fee is payable by the Retailer and is not separately added to the Customer's payment unless expressly disclosed.

Retailers remain responsible for ensuring that their pricing accounts for applicable platform fees and payment processing costs.

2.10 Platform Fee Refunds and Adjustments

Where an eligible grading-related transaction is refunded, Slabrio will reverse the associated platform fee proportionally to the eligible amount refunded.

Full Refunds

Where 100% of an eligible grading fee or Upcharge is refunded, Slabrio will reverse 100% of the associated platform fee.

Partial Refunds

Where only part of an eligible grading fee or Upcharge is refunded, Slabrio will reverse the corresponding proportion of the associated platform fee.

For example, where 50% of an eligible grading charge is refunded, 50% of the associated platform fee will be reversed.

Refunds relating exclusively to shipping, insurance or taxes do not trigger a platform fee reversal because these amounts are excluded from the platform fee calculation.

Platform fee adjustments will be reflected in the Retailer's transaction or settlement records.

These adjustments are commercial arrangements between Slabrio and the Retailer and do not reduce any refund amount owed to the Customer.

2.11 Payment Processing Fees

Retailers are responsible for applicable third-party payment processing fees under Slabrio's standard commercial model.

Stripe and PayPal may apply processing fees, refund fees, dispute fees or other transaction-related charges in accordance with their respective agreements.

Third-party payment processing fees may not be refunded when a transaction is reversed.

Unless otherwise agreed in the Retailer's commercial terms, these costs remain the responsibility of the Retailer.

Customers will not be charged additional undisclosed processing fees.

Slabrio does not charge Customers a separate cancellation fee to recover its platform fees.

Any Retailer-imposed cancellation charge must comply with the applicable disclosed terms and consumer protection legislation.

2.12 Grading Upcharges

Third-party Grading Companies may impose additional grading fees where a submitted card exceeds the selected grading tier's value threshold or other eligibility requirements.

These additional fees are referred to as "Upcharges".

Upcharges may arise where:

  • The Grading Company determines that a card's value exceeds the selected tier's permitted limit.

  • A higher grading service tier is required.

  • Additional charges apply under the Grading Company's service rules.

Where an Upcharge is issued, the Customer will be notified through Slabrio or an associated communication channel.

The notification should include:

  • The relevant Submission.

  • The affected card or cards.

  • The reason for the Upcharge.

  • The additional amount payable.

  • Available payment instructions.

All supported Upcharge payments must be processed through the Slabrio Platform using an available payment method.

Retailers must not require Customers to make separate off-platform payments for Upcharges that are required to be processed through Slabrio.

Slabrio's applicable platform fee will be charged to the Retailer on the eligible Upcharge amount, excluding applicable taxes.

Where permitted by law and the agreed service terms, completed cards may be held by the responsible Retailer until properly payable Upcharges have been settled.

Customers may raise a dispute regarding an Upcharge before payment.

Any dispute will be reviewed reasonably, with reference to the Grading Company's assessment and applicable consumer rights.

2.13 Rejected or Ungraded Cards

A Grading Company may return a submitted card without assigning a grade.

Reasons may include:

  • Authentication concerns.

  • Card alterations or evidence of tampering.

  • Grading eligibility restrictions.

  • Card condition or damage.

  • Other grading company requirements.

Refund eligibility will depend on:

  • The reason the card was not graded.

  • The Grading Company's applicable refund rules.

  • Services already performed by the Retailer.

  • The terms disclosed before purchase.

  • Applicable consumer protection legislation.

Some grading company rejection outcomes may result in a full or partial refund of grading charges, while others may remain chargeable.

Where a refund or credit is issued by the Grading Company, the Retailer must assess the corresponding Customer entitlement under the agreed service terms and applicable law.

Any applicable refund, credit or retained charge should be clearly communicated to the Customer.

2.14 Shipping and Insurance Refunds

Shipping and insurance charges may be refundable where the relevant service has not been used, purchased or commenced, subject to the applicable service terms and consumer law.

Where shipping or insurance services have already been provided or valid non-recoverable costs incurred, the corresponding charges may not be refundable unless required by law.

If a shipping or insurance service is not supplied as agreed, the Customer may be entitled to an appropriate remedy.

Shipping and insurance charges are excluded from Slabrio's platform fee calculation.

Further details are available in the Shipping, Insurance & Collection Policy.

2.15 Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

Customers who believe a payment is incorrect are encouraged to contact their selected Retailer or Slabrio support so the matter can be investigated.

Customers retain the right to raise disputes with Stripe, PayPal, their financial institution or relevant consumer protection authorities.

Where a payment dispute or chargeback occurs, Slabrio and the relevant Retailer may provide transaction records, submission information, communications and delivery evidence to the payment provider.

Retailers are responsible for cooperating with reasonable dispute investigations relating to their services.

Any chargeback fees or financial adjustments between Slabrio and the Retailer will be governed by their commercial agreement.

Nothing in this Policy restricts a Customer's lawful right to dispute a payment.

2.16 Outstanding Payments

Customers are responsible for paying charges that have been properly disclosed and are legally payable in connection with their Submissions.

Outstanding amounts may include:

  • Unpaid grading service charges.

  • Grading Upcharges.

  • Agreed shipping or return delivery charges.

  • Other properly payable service fees.

Where permitted by law and the applicable service agreement, a Retailer may delay the release or dispatch of completed cards until outstanding charges relating to those cards have been settled.

Any payment dispute must be handled reasonably and in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

2.17 Refunds and Account Closure

Customers requesting closure of their Slabrio account must first resolve any outstanding grading submissions and payment obligations.

Account deletion may be completed once:

  • All outstanding Submissions have been completed.

  • All cards have been collected or successfully delivered.

  • All properly payable outstanding balances have been settled.

  • Any unresolved matters that lawfully require continued account access have been addressed.

Customers may initiate an account deletion request while submissions remain outstanding. Where necessary, Slabrio may defer final account closure until the relevant obligations have been resolved.

An account closure request does not remove a Customer's entitlement to an applicable refund or other statutory remedy.

Slabrio may retain transaction records where required or permitted by law.

Further information is available in our Privacy Policy.

2.18 Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Customers may be entitled to refunds, repeat services, compensation or other remedies where services fail to meet applicable consumer guarantees.

Retailers remain responsible for their obligations as suppliers of grading submission services.

Slabrio remains responsible for its own obligations as the Platform provider.

Any Retailer cancellation or refund policy that conflicts with mandatory consumer protection legislation will be overridden to the extent of that conflict.

3. Changes to this policy

Slabrio may update this Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy periodically to reflect changes in applicable laws, payment processing arrangements, Platform functionality, Retailer requirements or business operations.

The latest version will be published on our website with an updated revision date.

Where changes materially affect Customers' rights or obligations, Slabrio will provide reasonable notice through the Platform, email or other appropriate communication channels.

Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued rights or alter existing transactions without a lawful basis.

Where required by law, Slabrio will obtain express acceptance of updated terms.

Customers and Retailers are encouraged to review this Policy periodically.
