2.8 Data Retention and Card Image Storage

Slabrio retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide its services, maintain customer accounts, fulfil legal obligations and support legitimate business operations.

Different retention practices apply depending on the type of information collected.

Customer Account Information

Essential account information, including customer names, email addresses, contact details and account preferences, is retained while the customer's Slabrio account remains active.

When an account is closed, Slabrio will delete or de-identify personal information that is no longer required, subject to applicable legal and regulatory retention obligations.

Standard Card Images

Card photographs uploaded for identification, submission creation or other standard Platform functions are used for their intended processing purpose.

These images are deleted after the relevant processing has been completed and they are no longer required for that function, unless retention is otherwise required by law.

Pre-Grading Images and Intelligence Results

Images submitted specifically through Slabrio's pre-grading functionality may be retained indefinitely for research, accuracy monitoring and improvement of Slabrio Intelligence.

These retained records may include:

  • Front and rear photographs of trading cards.

  • Automated pre-grading assessments.

  • Predicted grading outcomes.

  • Card identification information.

  • Actual grading results, where available.

  • Historical comparisons between predicted and final grades.

The purpose of retaining this information is to measure the accuracy of Slabrio Intelligence, identify prediction discrepancies and improve the reliability of future pre-grading assessments.

Retained pre-grading records are separated from customer account information and are not intentionally associated with customer names, email addresses or other direct account identifiers.

Slabrio will take reasonable steps to remove identifying metadata and prevent retained images and results from being linked back to individual Customers.

Where retained records remain personal information under applicable law, Slabrio will continue to apply relevant privacy protections and deletion obligations.

Financial and Legal Records

Certain information may be retained after account closure where necessary to comply with legal obligations, including taxation, accounting, fraud prevention, chargeback management and dispute resolution.

These records will be retained only for the period reasonably required or permitted by applicable law.

2.9 Customer Access, Correction and Account Deletion

Customers may request access to personal information held by Slabrio and request corrections where information is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated.

Customers may also request closure and deletion of their Slabrio account.

Eligibility for Account Deletion

For account deletion to be completed, the following conditions must be satisfied:

  • All outstanding grading submissions must have reached a completed status.

  • All graded or ungraded cards must have been collected by the Customer or successfully delivered through an approved shipping arrangement.

  • All outstanding payments, including grading fees, upcharges, shipping charges and other properly payable amounts, must have been settled.

  • There must be no unresolved submission-related matters requiring the account to remain active.

If these conditions have not been satisfied, Slabrio may defer account closure until the outstanding matters are resolved.

Customers will be informed of the reason for any deferral and the steps required to complete the process.

Where an account deletion request is received, Slabrio will restrict unnecessary processing of the Customer's personal information while any legitimate outstanding obligations are being finalised.

Once eligible, the account will be closed and personal information that is no longer required will be deleted or de-identified.

Certain information may be retained where required or permitted by applicable law.

Customers may submit account deletion requests through available Platform controls or by contacting Slabrio directly.

Nothing in this section limits a Customer's rights to request access, correction or deletion of particular information where required by applicable law.

2.10 Slabrio Intelligence and Pre-Grading Technology

Slabrio Intelligence provides automated tools designed to assist Customers with card identification, market valuations, grading tier recommendations and estimated grading outcomes.

These features are intended to support informed customer decisions and do not replace official grading company assessments.

Card Identification and Pricing

Slabrio may use third-party services, including the Card Hedger API, to identify trading cards and retrieve catalogue and market pricing information.

Customer names, email addresses and account information are not transmitted to Card Hedger as part of this integration.

Pre-Grading Assessments

Where available, Slabrio's pre-grading functionality may analyse photographs of trading cards to estimate potential grading outcomes.

These predictions are informational only and do not guarantee any particular grade.

Accuracy Monitoring and Improvement

To evaluate and improve the pre-grading system, Slabrio may retain pre-grading images, predicted grades and actual grading outcomes.

These records may be compared over time to identify differences between predicted and final grades and improve the performance of Slabrio Intelligence.

Retained pre-grading records are not linked to customer account identities.

Customer Decision-Making

Slabrio Intelligence does not make automated grading submission decisions on behalf of Customers.

Customers remain responsible for selecting grading services, confirming Declared Values and deciding whether to proceed with a submission.

All automated assessments and recommendations should be treated as informational estimates rather than guaranteed results.

2.11 Digital Portfolio and Card Records

Slabrio may allow Customers to create and maintain a digital portfolio containing information about their trading cards.

Portfolio information may include:

  • Card photographs.

  • Card descriptions and identification details.

  • Grading company and grade information.

  • Certification numbers.

  • Estimated market values.

  • Submission and ownership-related records.

Portfolio information is associated with the relevant Customer account.

Slabrio will not intentionally make private portfolio information publicly accessible without an appropriate basis, such as the Customer choosing to use an available sharing feature.

Digital portfolio records do not independently establish legal ownership or physical possession of cards.

2.12 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Slabrio may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Maintain login sessions.

  • Remember user preferences.

  • Improve website functionality.

  • Analyse Platform performance.

Disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.

Further information is available in our Cookie Policy.

2.13 Marketing Communications

Slabrio may send Customers information about new Platform features, service updates, promotions and other relevant announcements where permitted by law.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the unsubscribe link provided or by contacting us.

Opting out of marketing communications will not prevent essential service notifications relating to your account, payments or grading submissions.

Participating Retailers must have an appropriate legal basis before using Customer information for their own marketing activities.

2.14 Children's Privacy

Slabrio is primarily intended for individuals aged 18 years and over.

Individuals under 18 may only use the Platform with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, subject to applicable laws and Platform requirements.

Slabrio may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in applicable laws, business operations, Platform functionality, technology providers or information-handling practices.

The latest version will be published on our website with an updated revision date.

Where changes materially affect how we collect, use or disclose personal information, we will provide appropriate notice through the Platform, email or other reasonable communication channels.

Where consent is required by law for a new use or disclosure of personal information, we will seek that consent before proceeding.

We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically to remain informed about how their information is handled.
